  1: It's All About Me
by Donna M Weber

"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go..." -T.S. Eliot

I love to "live" and will do almost anything once. I have been fortunate to travel to many places, but truly "find" myself when I am close to the ocean...I strive to capture that feeling and energy in my daily life and my photography. As a self-proclaimed "parrothead" (Jimmy Buffet fan), I will do almost anything to spend a day on "the edge" or at the beach! I hope one day I can see it all....so far my top 5 soul-searching (or perhaps I should say soul-losing or soul-finding) places are (in no particular order and in random disorder):

1. Seaside, Florida
2. Santorini, Greece
3. Anguilla
4. Arches National Park, Moab, Utah
5. Absolutely Anywhere "Down-Under" (Australia, New Zealand)

"I run, therefore I am." -Nike

I love the adrenaline rush I get from running ...a chance to be outside, experiencing nature, and endorphins, all at once...almost nothing compares to it. I often find compositions for photos while running, and I return during hours of golden light to try to capture as much magic as possible. It's funny, when I run I lose myself and find myself all at once...what more could one ask for?

Top 5 running spots so far...

1. Chicago Marathon
2. Mesa Arch
3. Intermittent bursts on the Routeburn Track in New Zealand
4. The complete perimeter of Key West
5. Doing the "Rocky Thing" on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum in Winter

"What lies behind us,
and what lies before us,
are small matters,
compared to what lies within us."
- R.W. Emerson

I love the energy of the ocean from the outside looking in and from the inside looking out. The experience of this shark dive in Australia was remarkable...seeing these magnificent creatures up close and personal, was awe-inspiring. Now, on to the Great Whites!!!

"There is an art . . . to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."
- Douglas Adams, 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy'

One of the greatest ways I know to lose myself is to run off the edge of a cliff....
...with a kite on my back, of course!

There is an overwhelming sense of freedom to hang-gliding...there is no doubt that I will always "...want to fly like an eagle and let my spirit carry me!" - Steve Miller Band (dating myself, eh?)

"That's not flying, that's just falling with style." — Woody, from the movie 'Toy Story'

Someone once told me to jump off a bridge...and I did, off the Kawauru Bridge in New Zealand with one of my best friends, Tiffany! Bungy jumping is fun, fast, life on the edge....and then off the edge! I'll be back, and gone, and back, and gone....many times over again!

These are just a few of my favorite things...the things that make me, ME!!! Stay tuned for part 2!!!
